The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has now eased their Islamic laws majorly related to the personal freedoms, releasing alcohol restrictions and outlawing “honour killing”.
The development has occurred almost a month after US President Donald Trump brokered a significant peace deal normalizing relations between the arab nations including UAE, Sudan and Bahrain with Israel.
Based on legal modifications, UAE has also removed punishment for permitting couples to live together before marriage. Although authorities used to consider it in another way when it came to foreigners, particularly in Dubai, there was always the danger of punishment remained on in tourists’ awareness.
UAE has also forbidden the “honour killings” practice, based on which a male family member could escape trial for attacking a woman who was perceived as carrying dishonour to the family.
According to the government, the legal reforms have also marked away with penalties for the consumption, trading or possession of alcohol for an age limit i.e. those 21 and over.
Before this legalization, individual were required to have liquor license to proceed with any consumption or possession of alcohol.
