Amitabh Bachchan, a living legend in the world of Bollywood, has been given a special golden ticket to attend this year’s ICC Cricket World Cup matches in India.
The legendary actor was given the golden ticket to watch World Cup games by the Secretary of the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) and President of the Asian Cricket Council, Jay Shah.
In a statement posted to social media, the BCCI claimed that “Superstar of the Millennium” Amitabh Bachchan received the World Cup’s golden ticket from BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.
Bachchan posted on Instagram, “An honour and a privilege. Thank you kindly, BCCI, and Shri Jay Shah.”
According to media reports, the statement said, “Bachchan’s unwavering support for the Indian team inspires us all.”
It should be noted that the ICC One Day International World Cup will be held in India in October of this year. The tournament will begin on October 5 in Ahmedabad with a match between the defending champions, England, and the winners, New Zealand.
At the Narendra Modi Stadium, India and Australia will square off in the World Cup’s opening match on October 8, and Pakistan and India on October 14, respectively.
