Application filed for early hearing of pending appeal against Imran Khan’s disqualification

The petition was filed in the Supreme Court through the mediation of the lawyer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, Ali Zafar. In the petition, the position is adopted that Imran Khan is the former prime minister and the head of the largest political party. After the disqualification, the process to remove the party chief from the post is underway.

In the petition, it was said that the cases against the orders of the Election Commission are pending in the Islamabad and Lahore High Courts.

In the filed petition, the position was taken that due to these cases, the petitioner founder PTI cannot be elected as a member of the assembly, due to the pending appeal, the petitioner cannot participate in the by-elections. It is requested in the petition that Imran The appeal against Khan’s disqualification should be fixed for early hearing.

It should be noted that an appeal was filed in the Supreme Court on January 10, 2024 against his disqualification by PTI founder Imran Khan.
