The pivotal Asia Cup 2023 match will take place between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka today (Tuesday) at Gaddafi Stadium.
Afghanistan must defeat co-hosts Sri Lanka today in order to advance to the Asia Cup’s Super 4s round. Today at 2:30pm, this game could either win or lose at Gaddafi Stadium. They risk being eliminated from the competition if they are unable to win this game.
Although Sri Lanka has already defeated Bangladesh, they should not undervalue Afghanistan. Afghanistan’s bowlers had a bad day in their previous match against Bangladesh, giving up an excessive amount of runs, which put pressure on their flimsy batting lineup in Lahore.
Afghanistan needs to win with ease in order to qualify. For instance, to qualify for the coveted Super 4s stage, they would need to win by at least 68 runs or chase down any target in 35 overs or less if they set a target of 275 runs when batting first.
