Pakistan’s young athletes performed admirably at the just-completed World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Games 2023 held in Korea.

A standout performer in the competition, Asifa Ali won the gold medal in the 49kg division, making the country proud.

Notably, Asifa Ali, who is a student of global sports management at Seoul National University, manages to balance her academic and athletic endeavours.

Other notable athletes Hamza Saeed, Aqdasullah Qadeer, and Naila each won a bronze medal at the World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Games, increasing the total number of medals.

Saeed’s journey culminated in a thrilling semifinal match against Ryong Woo Li of Korea. Despite his best efforts, he was unable to outduel Li, dropping the game 2-0.

At the World Taekwondo Beach Championship G-2, both Aqdasullah Qadeer and Naila shone bright, winning bronze medals in the Poomsae Event.

Earlier this week, Pakistani squash player, Nauman Khan secured a gold medal in the Asian Junior Squash Individual Championship 2023 in China.

In the same event, Ahmad Rayyan Khalil secured a silver medal in the U13 category and Abdullah Nawaz won the bronze medal in the U-17 category.
