On Tuesday, in an ICC World Cup 2023 match being played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharmsala, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first against England.

There has been one change for both teams. Mahmudullah Riyad is replaced by Sheikh Mahedi Hasan for Bangladesh, and Reece Topley is replaced by Moeen Ali for England.

After the first game of the ongoing competition, the outfield at the HPCA Stadium came under scrutiny after fielders from both sides slipped while attempting to chase after the ball.

The Dharamsala outfield was cleared to play for Tuesday’s England-Bangladesh match after receiving an “average” rating in the match referee’s report following the first game.

When England lost to New Zealand on October 5 in the opening match of the ICC World Cup 2023, it was a concerning start to their campaign.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, began with a decisive victory over Afghanistan on October 7. Mehidy Hasan’s all-around effort and Najmul Hossain Shanto’s undefeated winning run from the bat helped the Shakib al-Hasan-led team upset its Asian counterparts by six wickets.

Jos Buttler (w/k), Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, and Reece Topley make up the England starting XI.

Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mushfiqur Rahim (w/k), Towhid Hridoy, Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman make up Bangladesh’s starting XI.
