Bilawal shared his remarks on the recent controversial comments made by PM Imran Khan

The amount or type of clothing worn by a woman does not justify any sexual assault happening to her,  PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has stated today, giving his remarks on the comments made by Prime Minister Imran Khan’s  in regard to rape on clothing.

While talking to the media at the parliament, said the prime minister’s comments were “disappointing”. Bilawal wants public to support the victims of rape and sexual assault.

“Such crimes should not be linked to a single cause […] the clothes of a person have no link with rape or abuse,” he stated.

The PPP leader was replying to PM Imran Khan’s remarks he made recently, in which he had made in regard to the sexual assault incidents happening in the country and the reason triggering it

While talking during an interview with Axios’s Johnathan Swan, PM Imran Khan had stated: “If a woman is wearing very few clothes, it will have an impact on men […] Unless they’re robots. I mean, it’s common sense.”

“Yes, but will it really provoke acts of sexual violence?” asked Swan.

“It depends which society you live in,” answered PM Imran Khan. “If in a society, people haven’t seen that sort of a thing, it will have an impact on them,” he further mentioned.
