‘Broadcast Channels’ are expanded by Meta to include Facebook and Messenger.

Facebook and Instagram’s parent company, Meta, is developing its “broadcast channels” function.

This feature, which was first made available on Instagram in February, enables page managers to communicate with their followers only in one direction.

Now, Facebook and Messenger will both have this functionality.

Broadcast channels may be used by creators and public figures with Facebook accounts to communicate with their audience and share content like images, videos, and voice memos.

In these channels, only administrators may post messages; participants may reply to messages and cast their votes in polls.

Administrators may start a channel right from their page, and after the first message is received, followers will get a one-time invitation to join.

In Messenger conversations, click the “Channels” tab to access these channels.

Participants can silence the channel at any moment, but they will receive notifications when the page owner submits updates.

More flexible communication options are now available to public figures and content producers on Facebook’s platforms, thanks to this development.

Page admins with access may begin utilizing broadcast channels even if the functionality isn’t yet accessible everywhere. Those without access can sign up for a waitlist for when it is.
