A cat accidentally dropped a 15-day-old infant from the roof of a building, resulting in his tragic death. The incident took place in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The father, Hassan, reportedly described the gruesome incident. He said his wife Asma woke up when she saw a cat carrying their son Rihan, who was dozing beside her. Hassan desperately attempted to chase the cat away in order to save the baby, but the cat knocked Rihan off the roof.
Since the birth of the twins Rihan and Alshifa, Hassan also revealed that the cat had become a regular passerby by their house. The family had made numerous attempts to frighten the cat away. The infant’s untimely demise was confirmed by regional authorities, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Usawan Police Station.
In India, there have been other fatal incidents involving infants and animals before. A similar tragedy happened in Runkata town, close to Agra, in 2018, when a monkey killed a 12-day-old child after snatching him from his mother.
