Ceasefire agreement should allow Israel to pursue its war aims: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has said that Israel should be allowed to fulfill its war objectives in the ceasefire agreement.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that according to the agreement, Hamas should not be allowed to smuggle weapons from the Egyptian border and it should be written in the agreement that armed militants will not return to northern Gaza. The Israeli prime minister’s statement comes as Hamas has backed away from its demand that Israel commit to a permanent ceasefire before signing the deal, allowing the Palestinian resistance group to hold a six-week ceasefire. On the other hand, according to the Arab media, the newly elected British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer called Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The British Prime Minister discussed the situation in Gaza and Lebanon with Netanyahu and said that the situation on Israel’s northern border is a cause for concern.
