After stepping down as captain last week, Babar Azam rejoined the Pakistan squad for their Australia series training camp. Azam gained notoriety for calling Saud Shakeel “Chota Don” in jest.
In order to prepare for the next Test series against Australia that would begin on December 14, 2023, the Pakistani cricket team began practicing at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
During the first training day at Pindi Cricket Stadium, a number of significant events occurred. Saud Shakeel was given the nickname “Chota Don” (Little Don) by Babar Azam during slip-catching exercises to inject some comedy into the proceedings after the southpaw skillfully made a catch.
The funny character “Chota Don,” played by Rajpal Yadav in the Indian film “Partner,” served as the model for this one. The word “Chota” refers to the character’s small stature.
Babar Azam led by example, participating in intense warm-ups and even going for a quick run around the pitch with colleagues Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan as the squad had some fun moments.
Babar Azam has shown unrelenting passion, concentrating closely on honing his batting techniques during net practice, demonstrating his drive to excel on the pitch even after resigning as captain.
