Approval has been given by The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) executive board meeting (EBM) for filing references against the previous Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) chairman, Abdul Ghani Majeed, and Managing Director of PIA Ejaz Haroon.
Majeed and his partners have allegedly allowed illegal allotment of plots in the Overseas Cooperative Housing Society Limited (Kidney Hills), Karachi, and made the payments via fake bank accounts, which has imposed huge losses to the state exchequer.
The EBM also agreed on an investigation against the representatives of the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation.
The board meeting also paid attention to the complaints to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regarding the carelessness of the Customs officers positioned at the Sost Dry Port and gave approval for an investigation against them.
A statement given out after the meeting was over made sure that the NAB inflexibly considers regarding the sacredness of the parliament and parliamentarians and recognized the part of the business community in the growth and development of the country.
The statement read: “NAB strongly denied the impression that the business community is perturbed due to NAB’s action. NAB always believes to perform its duties in accordance with the law”
