Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has had a very notable journey in the industry with many blockbusters.
Among his blockbuster a major hit was Dilwale Dulhania le jayegy aka DDLJ has completed its 25 years. It is one of the most watched Bollywood movies even recognized in the international world.
Something new for the fans to know is that Srk at first had said no to this role as he was not much interested in doing a role in a romantic movie.
It was an easy task, rather took several meeting with the icon to finally accept the role, as revealed by film journalist Anupama Chopra.
The other option for the role in consideration was Saif Ali Khan as well during the time ShahRukh Khan was not agreeing on the role and before he finally gave in to accept the role of “Raj Malothra”
Chopra wrote in her book: “Shah Rukh thought that romances were ‘pansy’, effete. He wasn’t interested in singing songs in pretty locations and then eloping with the girl, as was the Bollywood norm. Besides, the other two Khan heroes – Aamir and Salman – were playing the lover boy roles with great success, and Shah Rukh was happy to be regarded as a hatke (different) actor,”
