Travel across the plains was hampered by the closure of many countrywide motorways owing to thick fog.
A road police spokesman stated that difficult visibility conditions, especially in places with zero visibility, were the cause of the road closures.
Due to dense fog, Thokar Niaz Baig to the Islamabad Toll Plaza on the M2 Motorway was blocked. In addition, the M4 was blocked from Faisalabad to Pindi Bhattian Interchange, while the M3 Motorway was closed from the Faizpur Interchange to Darkhana.
There were closures on the M5 Motorway between Rahim Yar Khan and Rohri and Zahir Peer and Uch Sharif. Furthermore, all traffic from Mehmood Booti to Sambrial Toll Plaza was completely blocked on M11.
The spokesman said, “As a precaution, motorways were closed at various sections.” In addition, he recommended that people travel throughout the day, particularly between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The spokesman advised drivers to avoid driving excessively, keep a safe distance behind the car in front, and utilise both front and rear fog lights.
