After moving to Texas and taking his company’s setups to the state, Elon Musk now wants to bring in a new city in the state called “Spacebase.” Musk made the announcement regarding this project via Twitter.
The Texas state authorities showed their interest in the concept but wanted Musk to go through an official procedure. An official statement by Cameron county, the area Musk has chosen to build the city, read, “If SpaceX and Elon Musk would like to pursue down this path, they must abide by all state incorporation statutes. Cameron County will process any appropriate petitions in conformity with applicable law.”
Musk had shifted from California to Texas after showing his anger over California officials and their huge taxes. He has foretold the deterioration of the tech core. Musk was also mainly annoyed by California’s choice not to let him revive Tesla operations. “Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependent on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.”, he mentioned in a Tweet last year.
