Decision to just pause the project proposes Facebook still plans to bring a much younger audience to Instagram, its well-documented problems and possibly the user reporting that feeds its targeted ad machine.

Staying back — maybe only for the moment — to avoid pressure from lawmakers, critics, the media and child development authorities, Facebook has stated it will “pause” its work on a kids’ form of its photo and video-oriented Instagram app.

But what’s not yet clear is just how seriously Facebook is considering the worries of professionals and parents. That ad machine, of course, has led the company to be one of the most commercial on the planet.
