Facebook has announced that via a blog post that they will now be banning ads that aim at discouraging people from getting vaccinated.
The company stated: “Our goal is to help messages about the safety and efficacy of vaccines reach a broad group of people, while prohibiting ads with misinformation that could harm public health efforts. We don’t want these ads on our platform.”
Anti-vaccination ads are still going on Facebook but the company says they will bring the new policy in action after a few days and will be enforcing ban on these days.
The content being posted in Anti-vaccination group which is unpaid would still be allowed to be posted on the app.
Facebook itself will be promoting the usage of vaccination through information filled ads. This is a delicate time as people are losing hope in pandemic’s vaccination. There were around 70% people in the US who were ready to be vaccinated in May but now it has dropped to 50%.
