The massive loss to the already losing government organization is attributed to the current administration of the national flag carrier, according to Safdar Anjum, Secretary General of Pakistan International Airlines Senior Staff Association.

Because of the fuel problem, which resulted in a loss of Rs. 10 billion, he sought the resignation of the incumbent chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer (CFO), and director of engineering of PIA.

In the meantime, flight operations are normally resumed as a result of the agreement between Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

The national flag airline will fly 45 to 50 flights today in total.

An earlier Rs. 8 billion bridging funding deal for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had been approved by the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).

The funding for PIA’s urgently delayed payments will come from resources owned by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The Aviation Division was given permission by the Economic Coordination Committee to move forward with the bilateral agreement between Pakistan International Airlines and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
