Two more members of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) cabin staff have vanished, and the airline is still making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Details indicate that following the flight’s landing in Canada, two members of the national flag carrier’s cabin crew failed to report back for duty.
Speaking about the issue, a PIA representative stated that they had made contact with the local authorities about it. He went on to say that a thorough inquiry has been launched and that the cabin staff members will face severe consequences.
There have been previous instances of PIA cabin crew members going missing while on board. The majority of these occurrences have been recorded on PIA planes headed for Canada.
A national flag carrier steward went “missing” from a Toronto hotel only in July of this year. After several of these events were reported the previous year, PIA fired one of the crew members.
The PIA issued instructions to its cabin crew in 2021, stating that their passports would be confiscated upon their arrival overseas. The instructions stated that when the cabin crew members pass through immigration and customs procedures after arriving in foreign nations, the station manager will be in control of their passports.
