The British Council has developed a game-changing tool for IELTS test takers who want to raise their results without having to take the exam again in its entirety.
According to a national newspaper, the novel feature, dubbed “One Skill Retake,” gives applicants the chance to retake any one of the four IELTS exam sections—listening, reading, writing, or speaking—while maintaining the section’s recognisable structure and time.
The British Council’s Director of IELTS, Andrew Mackenzie, outlined how this innovation resulted from the company’s dedication to its clients. He said they knew their test-takers could get the greatest results possible on test day with enough preparation and support. He continued by saying that “One Skill Retake” allowed candidates to try again if they felt their previous performance didn’t fairly represent their English skills.
Additionally, organisations that accept IELTS results with the ‘One Skill Retake’ option might give applicants flexibility to fulfil entry criteria while upholding high standards. The IELTS partners’ commitment to helping test-takers reach their full potential is highlighted by this project.
The British Council is the only significant high-stakes exam supplier in Pakistan to provide this distinctive alternative, according to Maarya Rehman, Deputy Director of the British Council in Pakistan.
Test takers who choose the “One Skill Retake” option will be given a second Test Report Form that can be used for academic and immigration purposes. Candidates have the option of using either their initial test report or a new test report for the skill they retake, depending on their results. Candidates have more freedom and control over their test results with this option because it can be scheduled within 60 days after the initial IELTS test.
