Hajj 2024: First flight departing for Medina on May 9th

Pakistan is preparing to begin Hajj operations in 2024; the first flight is expected to leave for Medina tomorrow. The Ministry of Religious Affairs spokeswoman stated that the Hajj flying operation would take place from May 9 to June 9.

Tomorrow at midnight, the first Hajj flight for Saudi Arabia will depart from Islamabad, the federal capital. For the first fifteen days of the Hajj operation, every aircraft will arrive at Medina Airport immediately. Consequently, the majority of planes will land at Jeddah Airport between May 24 and June 9.

2,160 pilgrims, including 680 from Islamabad, 330 from Karachi, and 670 from Lahore, will embark for Saudi Arabia on 11 aircraft on the first day of the flying operation. In addition, several planes will carry 329 pilgrims from Multan, 151 from Sialkot, and other pilgrims.

259 Hajj aircraft will carry nearly 68,000 government-sponsored pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. The last day of the Hajj flying operation is June 9; the first return flight carrying pilgrims home departs on June 20.
