Senior journalist and columnist, Hamid Mir, has made an apology for what he said against Pakistan Army at a demonstration rally conducted against the violence on journalist Asad Toor previous month.

Mir formally offered the apology to a special committee formed by the Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) and the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad to inquire the claims leveled by the expert journalist.

He clarified to the committee, involving last President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Afzal Butt, President RIUJ, Amir Sajjad Syed, and President NPC, Shakeel Anjum, that it wasn’t his intention insult the Pakistan Army but got carried away after speeches from associated reporters.

He said he had always had huge respect for the sacrifices given by Pakistan Army and had presented several army operations from Siachen to the LoC.

After his previous month’s speech, Geo News banned Hamid Mir from presenting the well-known Capital Talk program. Since Mir’s being barred, Abdullah Sultan has become the host of Capital Talk as a host for now
