The PCB has released the modified starting 11 for tomorrow’s semifinal game against Sri Lanka. Injured Pakistan must defeat Sri Lanka in order to advance to the 2023 Asia Cup final.

Due primarily to the injuries to the key players, Pakistan will have to face Sri Lanka with a new team combination in the knockout round of the Super 4s of the Asia Cup. The team has undergone a number of changes ahead of tomorrow’s game.

The young and talented Mohammad Haris has been inserted at the top of the order in place of veteran opener Fakhar Zaman. Fakhar Zaman’s impact as an ODI opener cannot be disputed, despite his lack of effectiveness in recent games. While Fakhar Zaman’s exclusion has shocked fans, they are also eager to see Mohammad Haris succeed in the extended format.

In addition, because key bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah were injured, Pakistan’s bowling attack was overhauled. The team has asked Mohammad Wasim and Zaman Khan to step up and fill their shoes because their absence will be felt.

Another change involves the return of Mohammad Nawaz to the squad, replacing Faheem Ashraf. Meanwhile, Saud Shakeel will be able to play in tomorrow’s game thanks to Salman Ali Agha’s unfortunate injury.

Right before the important match, Pakistan’s ODI team underwent a complete makeover. To advance to the finals, however, Pakistan will need to defeat Sri Lanka using a different lineup.
