Energy Minister said that Sahiwal Coal Plant was installed in 2015 through CPEC project, the capacity charges of Sahiwal Coal Plant in 2015 were 3 rupees per unit, due to increase in dollar price and interest rate up to 22%, capacity charges increased, dollar price and interest rate increase. Capacity charges of Sahiwal Coal Plant have been reduced to Rs 11.45 per unit.
Owais Leghari said that at present, the burden of the energy sector’s debts is being taken from the electricity consumers.
