In a 190 million-pound lawsuit, PTI founder Imran Khan was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday.

The bench had heard arguments from both parties and had reserved the decision the day before.

The PTI founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were indicted by the accountability court in February of this year in connection with the 190 million pounds settlement case. Afterwards, both suspects refuted the accusations.

In the course of a £190 million settlement case, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a corruption reference against Khan, his wife, and six other suspects last year.

The PTI founder and others were charged with accepting millions of rupees’ worth of land as bribes through the Al-Qadir Trust from a real estate mogul in exchange for the mogul’s protection.

The case started in 2019 when the son of a well-known Pakistani real estate billionaire and his wife had £140 million in an account that the British authorities had found. The money was frozen by the National Crime Agency because they thought it was the profits of illegal activity. Remarkably, neither the couple nor their spouse contested the account suspension. In 2019, the UK gave the Pakistani government back the money that had been laundered after going through the legal process.
