IMF has demanded an increase in electricity prices by Rs 5 per unit before July 10.
According to Hum News, the loan program agreement between Pakistan and the IMF is likely to be finalized this month, while the Ministry of Finance has informed the IMF about the new budget measures. It is not necessary now, the staff level negotiations on the loan program have been done in May. Pakistan wants to take 8 to 10 billion dollars from the IMF. The IMF has supported the lending of 6 to 7 billion dollars, the final approval of the IMF loan program will be given by the Executive Board.
