Prime Minister Imran Khan has arranged a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) tomorrow (Friday) to talk about the ongoing situation owing to the banned  Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)-led protests in the country.

The news was revealed by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry in a Twitter post.

“In view of the situation arising because of the illegal activities of the proscribed organisation, Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a meeting of the National Security Committee tomorrow. Other issues related to national security will also be considered in this meeting,” Fawad stated on Twitter.

On the other hand, the protests carried by the members of the proscribed party have went into their seventh day today (Thursday), with protestors camping out in Kamoke since last night.

In the beginning, the banned group staged sit-ins in Multan and Lahore, after which they declared a walk towards Islamabad.

Main roads had been cordoned off by the security forces in order to stop the protesters from getting to Islamabad. The protesters have been staging sit-ins on GT Road for the past few days, distracting conveyance services.

TLP’s march has caused life disturbance in the federal capital and many other cities in Punjab.
