Last year, WhatsApp launched food shopping in a small number of markets. This year, however, WhatsApp is rolling out a full-fledged online shopping experience with a new feature called Flows.
With Flows, you can shop online and even purchase things like train tickets, dinners, and more without ever leaving your WhatsApp conversation. As a result, WhatsApp Business accounts will be able to provide menus and forms that you can easily use to make purchases.
In the next few weeks, WhatsApp plans to deliver flows for businesses through its business platform, starting in India. Users in India will be able to add items to their shopping carts and make use of a variety of payment methods, including UPI, debit cards, and credit cards. Razorpay and PayU have partnered with WhatsApp to ensure the security of these transactions.
Additionally, a brand-new “Meta Verified” verification function is in the works. With this function, companies that can show their legitimacy are given a trust emblem. Benefits like a customizable WhatsApp web page and multi-device support are available to verified businesses.
It’s crucial to keep in mind that this feature is still being tested and is not yet accessible through the business platform. Whether it ever makes it to Pakistan is likewise unknown, but given that everyone uses WhatsApp here, this would undoubtedly be a huge improvement for online shopping in general.
