With approximately Rs31 billion worth of tea consumed in Pakistan in just two months, tea is frequently considered to be the country’s national beverage.
Pakistani residents consumed tea worth more than Rs31 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year, according to figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
According to official records, tea imports in July and August of the current fiscal year totaled Rs31 billion and Rs640 million, respectively. The nation consumed tea worth Rs 30 billion over the same period last year, in contrast. Tea imports increased by Rs11 billion this year, and in August 2023 alone, tea imports totaled Rs15 billion and Rs910 million.
In comparison, Pakistan bought tea worth Rs. 10 billion and 290 million in August 2022.
