Sarfaraz Ahmed, a former captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, is well-known for his charitable work off the pitch in addition to his on-field accomplishments. His recent statement about establishing a free university in Karachi in partnership with the JDC Foundation Pakistan won hearts.
Together with his brother, Ahmed visited the JDC’s International Free School House of Education, which signalled the start of an ambitious initiative. In the discussion with Zafar Abbas, the general secretary of JDC, the wicketkeeper conveyed his desire to establish a university based on the same concept as JDC’s House of Education in order to replicate the success of the former.
For those who are unaware, JDC developed the House of Education, a free school that serves impoverished pupils by hiring the best teachers the city has to offer while still upholding international standards.

Through JDC’s Facebook page, Sarfaraz Ahmed’s proposal was announced, and a video was included. Ahmed intended to build an international institution in Karachi, as the caption made clear.
Speaking about the initiative, Zafar Abbas said that Sarfaraz Ahmed intends to create a free university with elite professors and administrators from around the world.
As he considered his inspiration for this concept, Sarfaraz Ahmed emphasised the financial difficulties that many aspirant students confront as a result of growing inflation. Motivated by an aim to lessen this load, the former captain promised to work with JDC to create a free university for Karachi’s youth.
