In Sindh, CNG stations will be closed for two days

On Thursday, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) declared that all CNG stations in Sindh would be closed for a 48-hour period.

A business spokesman stated in a statement that all CNG stations would be closed for two days, starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, and ending at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 22.

In order to handle the present gas shortage, he said, the province-wide closure of CNG stations was decided as part of the gas load management strategy.

The SSGC statement states that stations using RLNG would also be closed along with CNG stations. Due to a shortfall of gas supplies in the company’s infrastructure, CNG stations were previously closed for 48 hours, from 8 a.m. on December 30, 2023, to 8 a.m. on January 1, 2024 [source].

According to the company’s explanation, SSGC’s system’s lack of gas supplies has decreased gas availability, which has resulted in “depletion of line packs and causing low pressures in the system.”
