Being the backbone of the Pakistani cricket team batting lineup, Babar Azam has always proved his worth in the team but former captain, Inzamam-ul-haq thinks otherwise. According to him, there is room for improvement in Babar’s performance. This improvement can prove to be better for him and the team.

This particular statement by Inzamam about Babar Azam came after Pakistan lost against Zimbabwe in third ODI when match took a turn with a super over.

Pakistan had failed to chase the target of 279 and the match landed on super over. Main fight was shown by Babar Azam and Wahab Riaz. Babar had scored 125 runs whereas Wahab made 52 runs.

Inzamam stated that had Babar taken more responsibility, he would possibly have defeated Zimbabwe with at least 10 to 15 balls remaining. He further said that Babar is a great player and has a variety of shots in his game, but improvement is required in his game during the death overs as the necessities in the modern game are unlike.

He added that Babar need to learn how to strategically and successfully chase a target and also keep in check the required run rate.
