The federal capital’s public transportation system is now using electric buses, thanks to significant advancements in this area.
According to reliable sources who spoke with ProPakistani, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has opened a letter of credit (LC) for the purchase of electric buses.
The sources claim that the money for the bus purchase was paid after SBP opened the LC. In the following two months, the shipment of electric buses will begin to arrive in Pakistan.
According to sources, the CDA team will visit China at the end of November to assess the buses. The first thirty buses in the batch will be shipped to Pakistan following examination by the CDA team.
There will be 70 electric buses in the second batch of vehicles and 60 electric buses in the third batch. There are thirteen public routes in Islamabad where these electric buses will be used.
Interestingly, 160 electric buses are being bought, although Islamabad only needs 128. To ensure that these buses can be utilized in the event of charging issues, technical setbacks, or malfunctions, 32 more vehicles are being purchased.
