PML-N leader Khawaja Asif has been given bail by the Lahore High Court in a case associated with money laundering and possessing assets beyond identified sources of income just today.

Last year in December, NAB has taken the PML-N parliamentary leader in custody in the National Assembly for allegedly possessing assets past known bases of income.

He was taken under arrest after stepping out of the house of PML-N General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal where he was present for a review meeting to make a decision on whether or not the PML-N should challenge the Senate election.

As of today, an LHC panel including Justice Alia Neelam and Justice Shahbaz Rizvi issued the judgment.

He had asked for his bail appeal on March 27, 2021, clarifying that he had already given all details wanted by NAB and stated that the anti-corruption watchdog has not released any of the records delivered by him.

“The accountability court judge also observed that NAB has all relevant records,” Asif had stated.

He had said that the Federal Board of Revenue and Election Commission of Pakistan also have archives of the assets possessed by him.
