Kotli Sattian and Murree have been declared forest reserves by the Rawalpindi district government, which has also transformed the national park into a tourist attraction.
Liaquat Ali Chatha, the Commissioner of the Rawalpindi division, said this at a meeting concerning the implementation of the rulings made by the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench concerning the Murree Contingency Plan.
The meeting was attended by Senior Member of the Board of Revenue Nabil Javed. Speaking at the function, Javed emphasised that all departments should follow the LHC’s instructions to prevent any unforeseen problems.
He also ordered the removal of all obstacles in order to finish Murree’s master plan. Moreover, the highest-ranking board member promptly mandated all local preparations.
Nabil Javed ordered the departments of the police, forest, and civil defence, among other authorities, to provide more labour to the Murree government as soon as possible.
He directed that the four Murree bypasses—Bodhyal, Bustan Mor, Bansra Gali, and Kali Mitti—that are now being built and that go towards Galiyat be completed as soon as possible.
The delegation was given a briefing by the commissioner from Rawalpindi regarding the measures implemented to address the anticipated snowfall in the coming days.
He said that all departments are on high alert and that, as part of an encroachment operation, all illegal buildings have just been removed. Additionally, the commissioner’s office has banned development for a period of two months.
Ten of the canals that the district administration intends to develop a parking plaza upon are owned by the Murree Improvement Trust.
