The cost of transportation is anticipated to decrease by 13% in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as a result of the huge decline in fuel prices. Mian Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, the caretaker minister for information, culture, and tourism, made this claim during a press conference.
The provincial government is taking steps, the minister continued, to guarantee that the advantages of the decrease in fuel prices are distributed to the general public. Kakakhel wants to lower transportation costs in Peshawar first before implementing new charges in other province-wide districts.
Additionally, specific inspection committees and deputy commissioners will be mandated to ensure the effectiveness of the measures. The acting provincial minister hoped that, in addition to lower ticket costs, the general public would soon experience a major decrease in the cost of basic necessities.
Due to the soaring fuel prices over the past year, travel expenses have significantly increased. However, visitors should feel significantly relieved now that gasoline is priced at 40 rupees less.
All around the nation, provincial administrations have started negotiations with transportation companies to lower fares. Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi recently gave the authorities a 48-hour deadline in this respect.
