Toyota has stated that it will present an automobile on September 6 but has not specified what it will show. The long-awaited Century SUV might be on the way, according to a teaser.
The luxury model was initially mentioned at the June Alphard and Vellfire launch. Simon Humphries, Toyota’s head of design and chief brand officer, said at the time,
The Century is the pinnacle of chauffeuring, but as time goes on, it too will need to change. I’m hoping to get the chance to discuss the outcome of that tale with a brand-new Toyota chauffeur series installment later this year.
The new teaser confirms that the new car will indeed be an SUV thanks to its blocky body, chrome accents, and J-shaped taillights.
Toyota enthusiasts will be familiar with the Century brand from its upscale vehicles, such as the 2018 third-generation (G60) model. According to reports, the Century SUV could use a 430 horsepower hybridised 5.0-liter 2UR-FSE V8.
The Century SUV will have a hybrid powertrain and be built on the Toyota New Global Architecture GA-K or GA-L. The GA-K platform is used by the Alphard, Vellfire, Lexus LM, RX, and TX, while the newest Crown and LS are built on the GA-L platform.
According to other rumours, the vehicle will sell for the equivalent of Rs. 31 million in Japan, which is appropriate for a Mercedes GLS, BMW X7, and Audi Q8 rival.
