On Sunday the manager of historic Masjid Wazir Khan was suspended when a video clip of Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar went viral as they were recording for their music video.
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of a music video shot in the mosque.
He immediately sought a report from the minister concerned and the department’s secretary.
According to the notification, the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department has suspended Ishtiaq Ahmed, after social media erupted with anger over Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar shooting a music video inside the mosque.
“The mosque is the holiest place and no one can be allowed to trample upon its sanctity. Whosoever is found responsible will not be spared,” said the chief minister.
Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed are facing huge criticism after it appeared so that they had shot a video inside the historic mosque.
Soon Saba Qamar’s name became a top hashtag trend on Twitter.
Protests started across Lahore, as people demanded action against the stars.
