Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) increased its revenue by Rs. 2 billion after launching flights to Turkey in partnership with Turkish Airlines.
PIA made Rs. 2 billion from its flight operations from Lahore and Islamabad to Istanbul, according to the details. Within a month, it reportedly sold over 38,000 tickets for the above-said routes.
It’s important to point out that PIA began operating six flights from Islamabad and Lahore to Istanbul on November 15 of this year.
Previously, PIA announced that it will launch a discount package for the country’s northern areas in order to boost tourism during the current winter season. Khawaja Saad Rafique, the Federal Aviation Minister, presided over a high-level meeting of the national flag carrier during which the decision regarding the discount program was made.
The Aviation Minister directed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to implement special discount plans for Skardu, Gilgit, and Chitral during the meeting.
He also told PIA officials to improve flight schedules between Lahore, Karachi, and Skardu.
