Pakistani fast bowler, Mohammad Amir has announced his decision that he will be retiring from the platform of international cricket. Amir recently took to social media to let out his frustration as he mentioned that he was treated as a “shabby” and was subjected to “mental torture” by the team management.
He said:” I don’t want to play international cricket any more,” Amir, who has previously been banned for spot-fixing, I was always available for white-ball cricket but I have had shabby treatment from the team management who have mentally tortured me, and that’s unacceptable.”
Mohammed Amir was not made a part of the team during their tour to New Zealand. When asked about not being part of the squad on social media he simply took some digs at Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis.
Due to some issues regarding workload, Amir had announced last year in July that he was taking retirement from test cricket and it was effective immediately. After his decision of retirement from test cricket, Amir received a lot of criticism over it.
He stated: “People talk about my age and retirement but what they don’t realize that I didn’t play cricket for five years. Even if you don’t start your car for a week, even that needs oil change to get it running properly once again,” Amir responded to his critics.
Recently he was part of the Lanka Premier league where he took 11 wickets. Other than this he was also a part of the PSL’s Karachi King’s squad, the trophy lifting team.
According to a PCB release: “PCB chief executive Wasim Khan spoke with Amir this afternoon who confirmed that he has no desires or intentions of playing international cricket and, as such, he should not be considered for future international matches, This is a personal decision of Amir, which the PCB respects.”
