Begum Shamim Akhhtar, mother of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and President Shehbaz Sharif passed away in London. She was more commonly known by the name Shamim bibi. She passed away in London. The news was confirmed by many but initially it was confirmed by MNA Parvaiz Malik.
With prayers for the departed soul, the deputy secretary general of PML-N Attaullah Tarar tweeted: “The mother of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif has passed away Api jee Passed away”
No certain cause of death became known but sources assured that she was ill for quite a time now and in the previous week, her condition had only worsened. Finally she took her last breath on Sunday at her home in London.
Maryam Nawaz, the vice president of the party was at Peshawar today and she was supposed to address a rally during a public meeting of PDM when she received the tragic news of her grandmother passing away. She then made clear that she wouldn’t be able to address the rally.
Afterwhile she tweeted as well that she had received the news late and left immediately after receiving: “Due to suspension of mobile services, I received the news of grandmother’s passing two hours late, after which I immediately left for Lahore. My father and family kept trying to contact me but couldn’t,”
after the news came out, many people put forward their condolences including Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said; ‘My condolences and prayers go to the Sharif family on the passing of Mian Nawaz and Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s mother. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un’
