Naeem Bukhari has been removed as the chairman of PTV and the reason for this removal was his age. He was appointed as the chairman of PTV during the ending of last year, on 23rd November 2020, he was named as the chairman of PTV.
During his tenure, he took some decisions like he re removed the managing director of PTV, Amir Manzoor. As soon as Naeem Bukhari was removed from this post, Amir Manzoor was appointed back as the directing manager by the cabinet.
The cabinet further cross-examined for a clear cause for relaxing the upper age limit for 65-year-old Chairman.
The ministry made clear that it was an immediate decision because of the “chaos like situation” of Pakistan’s national television.
Furthermore, the Cabinet paid attention to a similar decision taken in November 2018 of hiring Ata ul Haq Qasmi as PTV Chairman and pointed outto that the information ministry has been making such blunders since the past and fails to send reliable information to the federal cabinet.
