National minorities’ day was observed on Tuesday to honor the services and sacrifices by religious minorities for the country
In order to recognize the contribution and sacrifices of minorities in creation of Pakistan and nation-building, this day is celebrated.
Government has consistently attempted to shield principal rights, wellbeing, security, respect, life, freedom and success of minorities in accordance with the memorable discourse of founder of the country Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah during Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947.
11th August was declared as National Minority Day in 2009 by the Government of Pakistan,
To honor the day, different seminars and social gatherings were held where members of different religious minorities were present.
