Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is planning on conducting flights from Lahore to Tashkent by the end of the upcoming month i.e. March 2021 and approval has been wanted regarding this.
CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik and Chief Commercial Officer Ali Tahir Qasim and airline spokespersons held a meeting with Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Pakistan H.E. Aybek Arif Usmanov and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Syed Ali Asad Gilani to attain official agreement for flights.
Both the ambassadors showed their enthusiasm to have air relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, a home of mosques and shrines, whereas Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand have a great Islamic culture and historic aspects.
PIA has its plans to grow its linkage to Central Asian countries and amplifying regularity of flights to Afghanistan. The airline is also planning to conduct five flights on weekly basis to Kabul from the beginning of March i.e. 4th March and will also conduct flights to Baku from Lahore during the mid of same month i.e. from 14th of March. Flights to Tashkent and Bishkek are included in the airline’s network extension strategy.
