The Federal Capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, will soon get a football stadium that meets international standards, according to a decision made at a high-level meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Captain (Ret.) Noor ul Amin Mengal, CDA Chairman, presided over the sixth board meeting of the year, which was held at the CDA’s main office.
The construction of a cutting-edge football stadium and the Islamabad Bus Terminal, among other major projects, have been given the authority’s approval, the official claimed.
A cricket and football stadium being built in the nation’s capital was said to be the main item on the agenda for the board meeting, according to earlier media reports.
Additionally, two sizable 20-acre sites close to the Motorway (MI) and Kuri were mentioned as potential locations for these sports arenas.
It’s important to remember that the CDA and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) previously worked together in 2012 to build a cutting-edge cricket stadium.
The project experienced an impediment in the year 2018 when the Supreme Court stepped in and canceled the Shakarparian location because it was inside a national park area.
Imran Khan, the former cricketer and current prime minister, gave former PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani the order to build a modern cricket stadium in the nation’s capital in 2021.
