The Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that it will begin preparing for artificial rain in Lahore next month.

Chief Meteorologist Chaudhry Aslam of the Met Department claims that artificial rain is produced by spraying a certain substance on clouds. He continued by saying that the fake rain arrives soon and pours for at least 45 minutes.

It is anticipated that the artificial rain will lessen smoke and enhance the air quality in the provincial capital. It is a component of the provincial government’s endeavours to eliminate oppressive pollution.

The Chief Meteorologist reminisced about the earlier fake rain events in the nation, when the Pakistan Army assisted in the operation in the summer and winter of 2001 and 2002.

Chaudhry Aslam responded to certain media claims by stating that artificial rain is not scheduled for November 28 and 29.

However, the provincial government has kept up its campaign of confiscating and fining cars that create smoke.

In addition, the province administration has been mandated by the Lahore High Court (LHC) to declare an additional vacation for educational institutions until the end of January 2024.
