Prime minister Imran Khan has allotted a historic financial transformation package for Karachi. The package is worth Rs 1.1 trillion that is to be used to reform and transform the infrastructure issues of Karachi.
Karachi is considered as Pakistan’s financial hub and generates around 70% of the revenue but its sewerage and drainage issues were brought into light last month when heavy monsoon rainfalls flooded the city with water.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) MNA Aftab Jahangir has stressed that every penny from the allotted package must be used to improve the infrastructure of Karachi and PPP must work along with federal government instead of politicizing the development package so that real improvement can be brought to the city.
Public had to face massive issues after the rainfalls but PPP didn’t provide any immediate relief to the victims, he said and acknowledged the losses people had to face during heavy rainfalls.
