Haris Rauf, the top fast bowler for Lahore Qalandars, will miss the rest of the Pakistan Super League due to a dislocated shoulder he sustained after he fell awkwardly on his shoulder during yesterday night’s close loss to the Karachi Kings.
Following the injury, he was examined and left with his arm bound. Rauf bowled the most economical four overs last night, giving just one wicket and 22 runs. He also played a vital part in the last over, which took the game to the wire, as he brilliantly caught and removed Hassan Ali. Rauf’s performance was outstanding.
Following consultation, the medical panel determined that he would require four to six weeks to recuperate, which would require him to miss the PSL season.
“Haris has been a crucial asset to the team’s bowling attack, and his absence will be felt,” said Team Director Sameen Rana. Although he is not seriously hurt or has a fractured bone, we didn’t want to jeopardize his chances of succeeding as a national player for Pakistan. Lahore Qalandars is still committed to providing excellent performances in the remaining PSL games.
The injury to Haris Rauf has left the Lahore Qalandars squad profoundly grieved, said captain Shaheen Afridi. He has been a rock of support for us; therefore, it was sad to see him go. His absence will be felt. We remain together in the face of difficulty, and I am fully certain that the squad will perform well.
” Although it is a loss for the team, it was prudent to allow him as much time as possible to heal because he is Pakistan’s primary bowler and there is a lot of cricket still to play. The Qalandars captain said, “We wish him a quick recovery, and we eagerly await his return to the field stronger than ever.”
Haris Rauf plans to complete his six-week recovery program in time for the T20 World Cup in June of this year. The green shirts will require his services for the major tournament.
Tonight at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi will square off in an attempt to win their first game of the year.
