Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), decided on Thursday not to visit the nation in September.
Nawaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met in London to make this decision. It was decided that Nawaz would postpone his arrival until later.
It has also been suggested that Nawaz Sharif might also think about coming back to Pakistan in October or November, especially in light of the upcoming general elections scheduled for February of next year.
The PML-N leaders discussed the political goals of their respective parties as well as the general political climate of the country.
Nawaz Sharif had earlier claimed that efforts were being made to defend the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who is implicated in corruption involving billions of rupees.
Speaking to the media in London, Nawaz Sharif asserted that Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial was defending the PTI leader, who was charged with embezzling billions of rupees.
Nawaz spoke after Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial asked the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to hear the disqualification and conviction case involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Toshakhana. Bandial also suggested that the PTI leader was erroneously found guilty and that he was not given enough time to mount a defence.
