Oppo is now the largest smartphone manufacturer in its local market in China. The company’s accomplishment in the area can be attributed to its fast development and Huawei’s failure in the phone market because of the US ban.
According to the reports from Counterpoint Research, Oppo was able to take over 21% of the Chinese market in the beginning of this year, making the brand a major phone manufacturer in the region. BBK Electronics’ Vivo approached in near behind with 20% and landed along with the ailing Huawei. Xiaomi and apple came in for the third place in China at 16%.
It was also mentioned in the reports that Oppo’s development in China over the previous months has been noteworthy. The company’s market stake amplified by 33% in beginning of this year in comparison to ending of the year 2020 and 26% compared to January 2020. It is notable here that the table under mentions Oppo’s 5G handsets distinctly as the company considers it to be a key reason for the company’s growth.
